Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of LostNav Japan ("Service"). By using the Service, the user agrees to these Terms.

1. Service Scope

The Service may provide the following support:

  • Lost item recovery support
  • Communication assistance
  • Shipping arrangement
  • Translation support
  • Recovery proxy services

The Service assists with communication and coordination with transportation companies, hotels, restaurants, commercial facilities, delivery companies, police departments, and related entities.

The Service does not guarantee discovery, return, shipment, or successful recovery of lost property.

2. Eligible Users

The Service is available to all users, including residents of Japan.

Users may request support either for themselves or as an authorized representative.

3. No Guarantee

The Service does not guarantee that lost property will be found, returned, shipped, or recovered.

Recovery outcomes depend on facility policies, storage periods, third-party handling, shipping conditions, and other circumstances beyond the Service's control.

4. Fees

Fees may be charged at the following stages:

  • At request submission
  • Upon item discovery
  • Upon shipment arrangement

Detailed pricing shall follow the website or order page.

5. Refunds and Payments

5.1 Search Fee

The Search Fee is generally non-refundable due to the nature of the Service.

The Service is deemed to begin at the moment the form is submitted.

5.2 Recovery Support Fee

The Recovery Support Fee is processed as an authorization charge.

The authorization may be released only if all of the following conditions are satisfied:

  • The recovered item was incorrect
  • The issue was reported immediately at the facility upon pickup
  • The facility staff and the Service confirmed the mismatch via direct communication

5.3 Shipping Fee

Shipping Fees are generally non-refundable.

However, partial refunds due to shipping method changes may be available.

6. Shipping

Domestic and international shipping may be available.

Customs duties, import taxes, and related charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

The Service is responsible only during the period after the Service receives the item and before it is handed over to the shipping carrier.

After handover to the carrier, the Service shall not be responsible for loss, damage, delay, customs holds, or related shipping issues.

The Service may refuse shipment of internationally prohibited items, carrier-restricted items, export/import restricted items, or unlawful goods.

7. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not:

  • Submit false reports
  • Abuse the Service
  • Request shipment of illegal items
  • Submit claims involving stolen property

The Service may suspend accounts, reject requests, or terminate support in such cases.

8. Personal Information Sharing

The Service may share user information with third parties to the extent necessary for service operation, including:

  • Police
  • Railway companies
  • Hotels
  • Restaurants
  • Delivery companies
  • Airports
  • Commercial facilities
  • Government agencies

9. Supported Languages

The Service supports the following languages:

English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malay, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Hindi, and Portuguese.

AI-generated translation tools may be used.

Due to the nature of AI translation, accuracy, completeness, and nuance consistency are not guaranteed.

The Service shall not be liable for damages arising from translation differences.

The English version of these Terms shall prevail.

10. Proxy Services

The Service may act as a proxy for communication, pickup, shipment, and related recovery procedures.

However, facility rules, legal requirements, and identity verification policies shall take priority.

Users must cooperate if identity verification is required.

11. Suspension and Refusal

The Service may suspend access or reject requests in cases involving:

  • Fraudulent payments
  • Abusive or disruptive conduct
  • Suspected criminal involvement
  • Operational interference

12. Disclaimer

The Service shall not be liable for:

  • Failure to locate items
  • Facility mistakes
  • Incorrect facility guidance
  • Expired storage periods
  • Carrier accidents
  • Customs holds
  • Natural disasters
  • Communication failures
  • Translation errors
  • User input mistakes

Users are responsible for additional costs caused by incorrect information.

The Service may suspend or terminate support if inaccurate information prevents proper operation.

13. Response Times

"24/7" refers to report submission availability.

Responses, investigations, and operations may occur during business hours.

Delays may occur due to:

  • High traffic
  • Disasters
  • Large case volumes
  • Facility business hours
  • Third-party operating hours

14. Chargebacks

Users may not initiate unjustified chargebacks after the Service has started.

If fraudulent chargebacks occur, the Service may claim actual damages, fees, and related costs.

Users agree that the Service may submit evidence to payment providers and related entities.

15. Cancellation

Users may cancel requests.

However, refunds shall not be provided after:

  • Form submission
  • Service commencement
  • Shipping arrangement

The Recovery Support Fee may still apply after discovery even if the user later cancels.

The exception described in Section 5 shall apply.

16. Limitation of Liability

The total liability of the Service shall be limited to the amount paid by the user for the relevant case.

This limitation shall not apply in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan.

Any disputes relating to the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Japanese courts.
